Works well with my ipad and provides accurate information. Had a full electrical failure on my last solo xc and was able to easily navigate home because of this. For that I will always highly recommend having something even as basic as this when flying with and Ipad!December 16, 2018Durability4 / 5Reliability4 / 5Performance4 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?Yesgreat little devise for the money, never had a problem with it not working, although for just a little more the next model up will allow more than one devise to be used, so it would be nice to have the phone app working to check information while leaving the ipad alone, its just faster sometimes to use one hand with the phone to gather info.December 11, 2018Purchased
over 2 years agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesGreat GPS sourceGotta say, this thing works perfectly! I have been using it for almost a year now, and have nothing bad to say about it. Most importantly, it gives a very accurate position, and doesn’t seam to be picky about where in the plane you put it. It acquires it’s position in less time than it takes to start the plane. I love that it has an internal battery. I just charge it at home between trips, and have yet to have the battery run out on me. Highly recommend.October 12, 2018Purchased

11 months agoDurability5 / 5Reliability4 / 5Performance4 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesSeems to work well so far - good valueI've only used the Dual for a couple flights (one of which was a trial run on a commercial flight as a passenger), and it really works nicely. It syncs to my Foreflight flawlessly. It did drop the connection once, and I'm not sure why. That's the only reason I did not give all "5's". This was during the commercial flight, so it may have been due to positioning.April 23, 2018Purchased

Since my iPad had no gps function, I needed something to go with my app for nautical charts. This fits the bill perfectly. Easy to use. Small enough to drop in a dry sack in the kayak. I have already recommended this to 3 other boaters.March 12, 2018Purchased

I use it with my iPad mini or iPhone while using foreflight. Nice to have this as a back up to the aircraft’s GPS. Also use it to record my flight in Foreflight to put into my electronic logbook. Works well for the cost.January 1, 2018Purchased

After several attempts on my own to upload the new software per website directions I called the factory and asked them for help. They said its out of warranty buy a new one if you can't do it. I then said can I send it to you for an upload. They said nope out of warranty. I said ok. I called back the next day and and spoke to another tech and they said the same thing. I purchased it from Sporty's and I called them for help. No luck again. It seems to me when a company changes a products software they should honor the upgrade with or without warranty. How about a software notification from the app store before it failed in flight so I would no.August 3, 2017Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Works exactly as describedPurchased this for use with my iPad Pro and WingX. I haven't found a better place than the dash which exposes it to a lot of heat in warm months. The rubber holder is black and absorbs heat. Heat can cause it to shut off which happened to me once. I haven't tried using it without the holder yet. I do wish I had purchased the version which enables more than one device to connect because a co pilot can use it with their IPad at the same time.Im rebuilding an aeronca and am looking for a portable gps unit that wont break the bank. DOT comCan this GPS be used on commercial aircraft since it doesn't utilize wifi?BEST ANSWER: Yes, I fly commercially and use this myself and I have also used it on commercial flights as a passenger. It works really well. I have found that reception varies based on your position in the plane (e.g. on a 737 near the window vs. aisle). Airlines have different policies about electronic devices and potentially can ask you to turn a device off if they are not comfortable with it.Will this the support synthetic vision in Foreflight Pro Plus?BEST ANSWER: I do not know, but since you've asked about the XGPS150A I must tell you that for me and another friend has not been completely reliable.
