Tips on how to choose a viewing power:

To select a viewing power, consider how you will be using your Dual Eyewear. If you are a pilot looking for a clear read of instruments, you might want to consider a magnification that is a bit weaker than what you use to read a book. For example, if you use 2.5 readers at home or at the office, try a 2.0. We recommend this because of the extended distance to instruments.

Why we don't sell polarized sunglasses
Many sunglasses today are polarized, meaning they use an optical filter to reduce glare. While this is fine for fishing or driving, it's a bad idea for pilots. That's because many cockpit instruments and glass panels have polarized faces, and polarized sunglasses will render these unreadable. In addition, the iPad screen will be blacked out in portrait orientation when wearing polarized sunglasses. Sporty's sells a wide variety of high quality sunglasses that do an excellent job of reducing glare--but without polarization.

Cheaply Made
I've now gone through my second pair of these. While they work well, if you look at them funny they scratch. That's the reality of plastic lenses, but these are particularly cheap. To be fair, the company sold me a replacement pair at half price; however, that second pair fell apart, (the left side lens fell off as the screws backed out). They're just cheap glasses. If they were priced at $35 or less, I'd consider buying them. $100? You must be kidding. Terrible value.

Great sun glasses
Light sturdy frames and I love the bifocal readers. Much easier to set the altimeter and read the labels on the avionics.

what is the difference between the Nv2 and Av2 sunglasses?
mary C on Feb 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The AV2 has a bridge across the top of the frame where the NV2 does not. Also, the arms on the AV2 appear to be a bit wider than the arms on the NV2.
