I had what I perceived to be a problem with it when I was doing the initial test as outlined in the POH. I emailed the company immediately ( about 1900). Within 5 minuets I had a reply - it wasn't a problem, it was misunderstanding. I put it in my 150 last night. it was 7 F last night. I will see on Sunday how it works when I get back to the hanger. I am very optimistic.October 30, 2019Purchased

1 year agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value3 / 5Would You Recommend?YesGreat productAlthough a little expensive, this product is extremely well made, includes a long power cord, and comes with a nice carrying/storage case. It works as advertised on my Cessna 150. Because of the quality I have no issue leaving it plugged in overnight for morning operations. On any larger engine one should probably go with the quad model. The unit puts out warm air and has no hot areas to burn you or cause damage to the aircraft.January 22, 2018Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesThis Hornet is welcome in my cowlingI am well pleased with my Twin Hornet. Safe, effective and “pilot proof”, it keeps the upper section of the cowling just right. I can put the unit directly on the cylinders without worry. Having an insulated cover is mandatory to hold the heat.January 12, 2018Purchased

over 2 years agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value4 / 5Reliable & SafeHave used the Twin Hornet 22 for three seasons with a cowl blanket to heat my Cessna 140. It works great -- have a question? Expect superb customer service from the manufacturer.December 29, 2016Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance4 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value4 / 5Very good unitI have owned the Twin Hornet for a year and use it to keep my Cardinal engine ready to fly in winter months. With a cowl blanket and cowl plugs, the heater keeps the engine compartment at a warm temperature, and the oil is flowing off the stick, even in sub-zero temps. I leave the unit plugged in all week between weekend flights, without an issue. Very good unit.December 24, 2016Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Works greatI own a Citabria that is very difficult to start when it's cold. I purchased the Twin Hornet, hooked it up and wrapped the cowl with a blanket. The next day I went to fly and the engine started immediately. I've used the heater for a couple weeks now and I've flown five times. Each time I start my engine it comes to life easily. I'm very pleased with the Twin Hornet and would buy it again.January 24, 2016

The heater will elevate the temperature of the six cylinders when used in conjunction with the two required blankets. It will not elevate the temperature of the oil sump region, nor the crankcase, so don't expect those items to be warm. The overall dimensions of the heater is small, and it will fit through an opening in the cowling behind the propeller.
