F-86 Sabre PlaneTag™

This F-86 Sabre PlaneTag™ came from the fuselage of a decommissioned F-86 that was acquired from the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, Arizona. It was a derelict rear section of an F-86 that sat out in the desert for many years. Instead of destroying the section, the decision was made to cut it up to let a thousand people enjoy it. The F-86 gained everlasting fame in the Korean Conflict, downing MiG 15’s at a ratio of 10 to 1. The first swept wing jet built by North American Aviation. It is a worthy successor to the company’s earlier triumph, the P-51 Mustang.

PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag.
