The Tornado GR.1 and Tornado IDS were prominent forces in the Gulf War conflict of the 1990s and the deployments to Afghanistan and Yugoslavia upon the coming of the 21st century.

The Tornado GR.1 and Tornado IDS were prominent forces in the Gulf War conflict of the 1990s and the deployments to Afghanistan and Yugoslavia upon the coming of the 21st century. They served as low-level, adaptable, and capable strike fighters able to knock out defenses from even great distances. This specific fighter served in the No. 31 Squadron under the identification of ZD790 in 1991, the leading squad of the entire Tornado GR.1 force. ZD790 was officially put in service in late 1984 and served active duty for the UK until 2019 when it is reserved for training. ZD790 “Debbie” as shown, has a similar paint scheme to the National Air Force Museum's own Tornado GR.1, which also served in the “Operation Granby” conflict of the 1990s. It carried deadly AIM-9L sidewinders (1 pair), fuel tanks, BOZ thermal and electronic countermeasure systems, and various types of standard bombs. Active weaponry loads also included Storm Shadow cruise missiles, Brimstone Anti-Tank, and CPU or GBU Paveway Guided Bombs. The Model itself features swinging wings, rotating weaponry, and a selection of ordinances just like what it would have carried in the Desert Storm conflict. Features include an opening canopy, closed and open gear arrangements, and a detailed cockpit with a Pilot and Weapons Systems Officer. It is sure to appeal to anyone interested in the Desert Storm conflict and is very pose-able with its sets of weaponry and swinging wings. Includes a display stand to show the model airborne. Scale: 1:72; Measures 9.25” in length and a wingspan of 7.75” at full wings out.

• Opening Canopy with Pilot and WSO.
• Authentic swing-wing (folding wing) true to the original aircraft.
• Authentic weaponry to it’s service in Desert Storm, AIM-9Ls, BOZ Pods, and GBU-12 Paveway Guided-Bombs.
• Premium finish and paint detail true to the colors of ZD790.
• High-quality panel lines engraved into the models as well as pad printed art, which resist fading and won't peel from the surface.
• High quality packaging and peg-attached weaponry keeps the model secure and easy to transport.
• Included display stand and gear or gear doors depending on your preference.
