This rugged, articulating borescope makes it easy to inspect your airplane's engine and share photos with your mechanic—right from your mobile phone.

A powerful, easy-to-use borescope for owners and mechanics

Borescopes have revolutionized how piston airplanes are maintained. Instead of relying on unreliable compression checks, a borescope inspection can let you see exactly what your cylinder walls or exhaust valves look like, helping you spot problems sooner and avoid unnecessary maintenance. While borescopes are now an essential part of a smart A&P's toolbox, they have traditionally been both too expensive and too hard to use for most aircraft owners.

Not anymore. This rugged and affordable borescope is purpose-built for aviation professionals and aircraft owners performing routine and preventative maintenance. Whether you're inspecting inside engine cylinders, behind instrument panels, or within tight airframe spaces, this easy-to-use borescope delivers the visibility you need—right on your iPhone or Android. The best part? It is simple to use and device powered: simply plug into your phone and download the app. It is that easy.

Key features:

  • >180° One-Way Articulation – Navigate tight spaces and inspect valves, cylinder walls, and internal components with precise control.
  • HD 1280x720 Resolution – Capture sharp, detailed visuals to spot corrosion, carbon buildup, or burnt valves early.
  • Broad Focus Range (~5mm and beyond) – Perfect for confined inspection points. cylinders, or turbine engines.
  • Built-in Photo & Brightness Controls – Snap images and adjust LED lighting right from the handle, then share pictures with your mechanic.
  • Articulation Lock – Hold your view steady while documenting or sharing findings.
  • Durable Tungsten Braided Probe – Designed to withstand daily use in the hangar or field.
  • Universal Compatibility – Plug and play with iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebook devices.

Ideal for annuals, prebuys, and airplane piston engine insepctions, this borescope gives general aviation mechanics and owners the clarity, control, and confidence to keep aircraft safe and airworthy. Snap a picture of that exhaust valve and share it easily with your A&P—it's the modern way to maintain your airplane.

Ask A&P Colleen Sterling:

Q: As an aircraft owner, can I do my own borescope check, or is that just reserved for mechanics?

A: For Part 91, it's legal for an aircraft owner to remove, replace and clean spark plugs. So when the spark plug is out, I always stick a borescope in there to check out the valves and look for signs of damage in each cylinder. It literally takes two minutes and all aircraft owners should be doing this.
