Time to get up to speed with this Rusty Pilot Kit

The ultimate course for the “Rusty Pilot”. This kit includes the Real World Flight Review, Pilot’s Handbook Aeronautical Knowledge, FAR/AIM (With complementary tabs), and Pilot Workshops VFR Communications Manual.

Review Course + Real World VFR
Whether you're prepping for a flight review or just looking to get current, the new Real World Flight Review Course has you covered. We added the PilotWorkshops Real World VFR video program to our best-selling Sporty's Flight Review Course to create the most comprehensive flight review program of its kind.

The original Sporty's Flight Review Course focuses on the knowledge portion of the flight review, while the Real World VFR video program from PilotWorkshops provides a more hands-on demonstration of good technique.

Combined, these programs will help you get fully prepared for your next flight review, and take your flying to the next level.

After completing the video training and receiving a minimum score of 80% on the included quiz, you will be eligible to receive an endorsement from Sporty’s Academy stating that you have completed the required one hour of ground training for the Flight Review. To satisfy the complete Flight Review requirements, an additional one hour of flight training (minimum) is required.

Real World VFR is delivered in a series of ten recorded end-to-end flights, spanning a wide variety of airports and terrain. These flights were designed to be challenging, yet accessible to a proficient private pilot. They don’t require superhuman skill, just more preparation, and thought.

Each flight starts with a thorough briefing, then you follow the pilot and CFI through the flights in real-time as they tackle unusual takeoffs, approaches, landings, airports, airspace and navigation that could challenge any pilot flying VFR. Each flight is followed by a thorough debrief.

As you fly along, they talk you through each task and procedure as they complete it. You hear all of their ATC interactions so you’ll know the proper phraseology to use. There are no shortcuts—you follow most flights in real-time from engine start to engine shutdown.

FAA Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge
Often referred to as the PHAK, this official FAA handbook has been required reading for more than 30 years. Providing basic knowledge essential for all pilots—from beginning student pilots to those pursuing more advanced pilot certificates—this book introduces pilots to the broad spectrum of knowledge needed as they progress through pilot training. Studying this book, pilots gain the required knowledge to earn a certificate and understand aerodynamic theory associated with airplane flight.

The book begins with a basic introduction to flying, including the history of flight, the role of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), criteria for earning the various pilot certificates, how to select a flight school and instructor, and the tests associated with earning a pilot certificate. Subjects covered include aircraft structure, principles and aerodynamics of flight, flight controls, aircraft systems, flight instruments, flight manuals and documents, weight and balance, aircraft performance, weather theory, aviation weather services, airport operations, airspace, navigation, aeromedical factors, and aeronautical decision-making.
