Powered by a pair of General Electric T700 turboshaft engines, the AH-64D is a traditional attack helicopter design with a single main and tail rotor. In this configuration, it can reach over 180 mph and up to 20,000 ft of altitude, with 300 miles of combat range. On top of the rotors is another crucial component; the “Longbow” radar dish, which has an excellent 360-degree view from above the aircraft. In conjunction with the laser and radar warning receivers, the AH-64D maintains excellent combat awareness on the battlefield.
Assigned to the US Army 4th Combat Brigade, this AH-64D was one of the many to serve in Operation Atlantic Resolve. Placed strategically to deter enemy forces from the eastern NATO flank, each brigade rotates in order to provide consistent attention to the region, forming a rigid blockade against invasion. Die-Cast version has an accurate paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, and display stand to show the model in flight. Also includes a full set of underwing weaponry with press-fit installation, rotating blades, spinning tail rotor, and poseable underbelly turret. Measures 8.75”l with a 8.25” rotorspan at 1:72 scale.
