Air India Airbus A350-900 Die-Cast Model

First flying in 2013 and being introduced over the years following, the Airbus A350 is a direct competitor of aircraft such as Boeing’s successful 777 and 787 lines. Succeeding the previous A340 type with improved aerodynamics and efficiency, first production models were delivered in 2014. Launching with customer Qatar Airways, it debuted commercially in January of 2015.

Commonly outfitted with around 315 seats in three-class configuration, the A350-900 variant can reach up to 9,600 miles non-stop. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines which create around 194,000 lbs. combined thrust, A350s utilize the world's most efficient large aero-engine. Decreasing operational costs for customers and operators alike, the effective design can reach altitudes up to 43,000 ft, cruising speeds over 560 mph, and maximum weight of 620,000 lbs.

Expanding its fleet by over 500 aircraft, Air India has recently taken on 20 of the Airbus A350-900 type following a merger with Vistara. Anticipating major increases in air travel, this change is part of its growing process. Expected to cost 70 billion USD, the airline intends to provide stronger and more reliable domestic travel. Die-Cast version has an authentic paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad-printed decals, and pre-installed detailed landing gear. Measures 6.5”l with a 6.5” wingspan at 1:400 scale.
