Submit your cover-worthy seaplane photos by August 16, 2026
Few sights in aviation capture the imagination like a seaplane lifting off from glassy water at sunrise. Now, Sporty’s and the Seaplane Pilots Association (SPA) are inviting pilots nationwide to share those unforgettable moments.
From March 15 through August 15, 2026, entrants may submit their best seaplane images for a chance to win a $1,000 Sporty’s Gift Card and to have their photo featured on the cover of a future edition of the famous Sporty’s Pilot Shop Catalog. Second and third place winners will each receive a $500 Sporty’s Gift Card. Submitted photos will also be eligible for inclusion in the SPA’s annual calendar.
“Seaplanes represent adventure, freedom, and the pure joy of flight,” said Steve McCaughey, Executive Director of the SPA. “This contest celebrates the unique beauty of backcountry docks, coastal harbors, and remote lakes that define the seaplane community.”
How to Enter
Participants may submit high-resolution seaplane photos between March 15 and August 15, 2026. Entries must be submitted online at Sportys.com/seaplane.
Celebrating Seaplane Flying
This contest also highlights the growing enthusiasm for seaplane flying. Sporty’s recently introduced a comprehensive Seaplane Rating Course that features world champion aerobatic pilot Patty Wagstaff and is designed to make earning a seaplane rating more accessible and engaging than ever.
