Widely recognized as one of the best aircraft of its era, the Boeing 757 was a narrow-body, twin engine jetliner with an advanced “supercritical” wing, powerful engines, and large onboard capacity. Serving as both a freighter and a passenger jet, the type has seen extensive service by several operators, including FedEx, United, and Delta Airlines. Across a decade of production in the late 20th century, 1050 were made, with over 600 still remaining in service by 2020.

History and Specifications
With an onboard capacity of 200-240 passengers or 84,000 lbs of cargo and a range of over 4,000 miles, the versatile 757 airframe is fit for the duties of almost any operator. It is propelled by a pair of Pratt & Whitney PW2037 turbofans, creating a combined 75,000 lbs of thrust on takeoff. Service of the jet is 42,000 ft, top speed is 571 mph, and a maximum weight is 273,000 lbs. Known as the “Widget Livery” that was first painted onto the Douglas DC-8s that Delta operated in the 1960s, all of the operator’s 86 Boeing 757s took on this color scheme upon delivery. Decorated in striking blue, red, and silver, the “Widget” stood out among the crowd, joining in on the movement to brighter, not so “plane” liveries of others. Die-Cast version has an accurate paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, and detailed landing gear for display. Also includes a metal display stand to show the model in flight.
