Developed from the MD-95 of the 1980s, the Boeing 717-200 is a narrow-body, rear engine aircraft intended to carry a mid-size assortment of passengers. It was created from McDonnel’s project when Boeing acquired the brand, deciding to continue development even though the design appeared to have limited success. When deliveries began in 1999, the aircraft was directly competing against Bombardier and Embraer, who’s successful and capable jets dampened the sales of Boeing’s takeover project.

The 717-200 has a typical capacity of around 106 mixed class passengers, with a range of around 1,600 miles and is powered by two Rolls Royce BR715-A1-30 engines generating a combined 37,000 lbs of thrust. The altitude ceiling of the jet is 37,000 ft, with a top speed of 511mph and a maximum weight of 110,000 lbs.

As of 2022, Delta, Quantas, and Hawaiian airlines are the remaining operators of the jet. Of these three airlines, only 103 aircraft are still flying compared to 148 that were flying in 2018. This Die-Cast version has an accurate Delta Airlines paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, detailed landing gear and includes a display stand. Measures 7.5”l with a 6” wingspan at 1:200 scale.
