History and Specifications:
Initially delivered as MD-82s, Delta Air Lines’ special request MD-88 aircraft were outfitted with several onboard improvements in the following years. Adding an integrated EFIS electronic flight instrument panel and windshear warning system, all 80 aircraft feature Pratt & Whitney JT8D-200 engines. Carrying up to 170 passengers across 2,000 miles nonstop, the type can reach 543mph and 37,000ft of altitude. Painted with the classic 1990s Delta Air Lines colors, this aircraft was registered N925DL and was delivered in 1988 under the MD-88 specification.
