History and Specifications:
Derived from the earlier A300 “B10” prototype, the modern A330-300 is one of the most highly developed aircraft today. Seating 440 passengers in dual-aisle configuration, it maintains a crew of two onboard, which can even sleep during travels in a dedicated bunk. Reaching more than 7,000 miles non-stop, the pair of Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines produce 70,000 lbs of thrust each, resulting in top speeds over 540mph. Reaching over 41,000ft of altitude and weighing up to 534,000 lbs, it even supports 33 LD3 containers or 9 pallets of cargo in the underbelly. Directly competing with Boeing’s 767 and 777 offerings, it boasts an improved herringbone seating configuration and higher range than most flights on the former. Originally delivered to Lufthansa in 2008 under registration D-AIKK, this specific aircraft now belongs to Discover Airlines, the Lufthansa group’s quality leisure airline. With routes from Munich and Frankfurt, the A330-300 carries passengers to their vacation destinations in comfort.
