F-16C Fighting Falcon Broken Arrow Die-Cast Model

Dedicated to the City of Broken Arrow.

Demonstrating an enhanced avionics system onboard, including the APG-83 AESA (active-electronically-scanned-array) radar unit, 88-0545 is an F-16C Fighting Falcon from the 138th FW, Oklahoma Air National Guard. Built in 1990 to Block 42D specification, the aircraft served in both 36th and 124th Fighter Squadrons before it was transferred to the 125th Fighter Squadron in 2006. Deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn over the following years, the aircraft remains active from Tulsa’s Air National Guard Base, sporting the recognizable emblem and nickname from the local City of Broken Arrow.

History and Specifications:
Pioneering new technologies in aerospace engineering, the Lockheed F-16 Fighting Falcon was the first fighter jet with direct hydraulic or electronic control surfaces, the first aerodynamically unstable aircraft to see production, and one of the fastest single engine aircraft in the world. Flying at speeds up to 1,345mph, altitudes over 50,000ft, and more than 1,400 miles of combat range, it is highly maneuverable and well equipped for ground-attack and air-to-air engagements. Receiving numerous upgrades in the last few decades, the aircraft has since become a hallmark of aviation engineering.
