Since the dawn of the 21st century, new technologies like stealthiness and enhanced data-link have transformed air combat.
Introduced in 2006 as the United States’ newest aircraft, the F-35 Lightning II is a stealthy and highly classified multirole fighter jet. Boasting vertical-liftoff and traditional flight configurations, it can be adapted to any mission, with low detectability that allows for effortless intrusion and escape of enemy systems. With more than 1,000 units delivered by 2024, it is expected to remain in service until the late 21st century as the premier fighter jet of nations across the globe.
Stunning and precisely detailed, this model features:

- Deployed or retracted landing gear and display stand to show the aircraft in flight
- Internal weapons bay with included ordinance options and underwing weaponry
- Components for display in both vertical takeoff and forward flight configurations
- Open or closed canopy with pilot figurine which can be placed inside
- Measures 8.5”l with a 5.75” wingspan at 1:72 scale
- Highly collectable and officially licensed model
History and Specifications:
Rising from the need to replace aging fleets in the US Navy, Air Force, and Marines, the F-35 Lightning II was developed from a hard-fought battle of rigorous test flights, cost overruns, and failures that would see the drawing board be turned upside down. Demonstrating stable vertical takeoff and landing, promising stealth results, and excellent maneuverability, Lockheed’s final concept would be selected on the turn of the 21st century. Now in active service during the following decades, the modern F-35 has been exported around the world in all three unique variants. Featured here in the “B” configuration, this aircraft maintains the vertical-takeoff-and-landing capability in conjunction with internal weaponry. Uniquely though, it is equipped to hold external ordinance pylons for crucial missions, known as the “Beast Mode” package. While it increases the likelihood of detection, the VMF-225 “Vikings” are prepared to take on that compromise.
