Introduced in 1940 for the United States Marine Corps and Navy, the F4F Wildcat was both maneuverable and fast, with excellent weaponry and climb rate. Proving extremely successful in combat, the small and agile fighter racked up over 1000 aerial victories by the end of WWII. More than 50 aces had been made, and the Grumman design was credited with an overall 9:1 ratio of enemies taken down per loss. Featuring the livery of VF-3 aboard the USS Lexington, this display model boasts an authentic paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, and rotating propeller. Each one also includes pre-installed landing gear and display stand to show the aircraft in flight. Measures 5”l with a 6.25” wingspan at 1:72 scale.
