- Pre-installed landing gear and display stand to show the aircraft in flight
- Clear cockpit and moving tail gun
- Rotating propellers
- Measures 5.75”l with a 7” wingspan at 1:144 scale
History and Specifications:
Nicknamed “Betty” with a rotund fuselage and two engines on the large, mid-mounted wings, the G4M1 Type 1 was an analogue for the A6M Zero. With very little protection for crew and low damage resistance, it suffered heavy losses against well-armed opposition but was well suited for the largely undefended mainland of China. Traveling more than 3,750 miles with a top speed of 265 mph, the Betty measured 65 ft long with an 81 ft wingspan. Carrying 1,900 lbs of weaponry in the bomb-bay and defended with several turrets, largest of which featured a 20mm cannon on the tail, it was a capable adversary for enemy forces. Produced between 1940 and 1944, 1,170 G4M1 aircraft were manufactured by Mitsubishi in Nagoya, Japan.
