Measuring 7.5”l with a 5.75” wingspan at 1:200 scale, this die-cast model features an authentic paint scheme, etched panel lines, and pad printed decals. 

Painted in the iconic Midwest Airlines blue scheme.

Delivered in December of 2004, N920ME was put into initial service with Midwest Airlines, featuring a recognizable blue scheme with red and white “cheat lines” down the side. Primary short-haul aircraft until retirement in 2009, the 717-200 was well fit for smaller airport and passenger sizes. Providing low-cost fares from their base in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Midwest Airlines begin touting the slogan “best care in the air” in the 1980s. Transporting millions of customers every year, Midwest Airlines earned an excellent reputation for their outstanding service, merging into Frontier Airlines during 2010 as fuel costs began to skyrocket.

History and Specifications:

Developed from the McDonnell Douglas MD-95 project before their 1997 merger; Boeing’s 717-200 was intended to replace aging DC-9 aircraft for short-haul routes. Outfitted for up to 117 passengers onboard, it could travel 2,200 miles non-stop at speeds over 500 mph. Powered by two Rolls Royce BR715 engines, the aircraft had 42,000 lbs./thrust available. Rated for flight level 370, or 37,000 ft, the aircraft could weigh as much as 110,000 lbs.
