One of the final aircraft to equip Northwest Airlines.
Delivered in 2002, N587NW was one of the final aircraft to equip Northwest Airlines. Built in 757-300 configuration, it was one of 16 units that were ordered to complement their existing 757-200 fleet. Effective at handling their usual trunk routes, Northwest would openly regret not increasing their order for more aircraft. Often utilized for west coast destinations like Las Vegas or long-distance trips to Hawaii, N587NW was highly versatile and well-liked by passengers and pilots. Decorated with the final Northwest Airlines paint scheme, the aircraft was taken in by Delta Airlines during their merger in 2008 and remains active to this day.

History and Specifications:
Widely recognized as one of the best aircraft of its era, the Boeing 757 was a narrow-body, twin engine jetliner with an advanced “supercritical” wing design. Boasting an unusually high power to weight ratio and 200-240 passengers onboard, it was often called a “hot rod” of the skies. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW2037 turbofans, the aircraft can reach altitudes up to 42,000 ft and speeds over 570 mph, with an unrefueled range of 4,000 miles. Manufactured between 1982 and 2004, more than 1,000 were made, with over 600 still remaining in service.
