PBS De-Ice Boot System Kit

Complete system to clean, protect, and preserve de-ice boots.

The PBS De-Ice Boot System Kit includes PBS Prep and PBS Boot Sealant, which are designed to work together to clean, protect, and extend the life of pneumatic de-ice boots. Used as a system, this kit ensures maximum gloss, long-lasting protection, and consistent performance in all weather conditions.

PBS Prep thoroughly removes old boot treatments and buildup, properly preparing the surface for sealant application. PBS Boot Sealant then delivers a durable, high-gloss finish that resists UV damage, wear, and contamination—without streaking back onto wings or flying off during flight.

This kit helps prevent black streaks caused by oily products and keeps de-ice boots looking sharp and performing properly between maintenance cycles.

Application Instructions

Step 1: Prepare with PBS Prep

1. Tape off de-ice boots using 2″ painter’s tape, curling the edge away from painted surfaces.
2. Apply PBS Prep directly to the boots and spread evenly using a de-ice boot scrubbing sponge.
3. Allow PBS Prep to dwell for 2–5 minutes to soften old treatments.
4. Soak the sponge in water and agitate the surface to remove residue.
5. Wash and rinse thoroughly using a neutral pH aircraft wash soap.
6. Dry completely with clean microfiber towels. Boots are now ready for sealant.

Step 2: Protect with PBS Boot Sealant

1. Apply PBS Boot Sealant using a microfiber applicator, wiping in one direction.
2. Apply 3–5 thin coats, allowing each coat to fully dry before applying the next.
3. Dry time may increase in high humidity.

Tips for Best Results

• Keep products above 38°F
• Avoid contact with painted surfaces during prep
• Between flights, clean bugs using a damp microfiber towel
• Apply additional sealant coats as needed to maintain a high-gloss finish
