Sporty's & Seaplane Pilots Association Photo Contest

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

1. SPONSOR

This Contest is sponsored by Sportsman's Market, Inc. d/b/a Sporty's ("Sporty's"), 2001 Sporty's Drive, Batavia, OH 45103 and Seaplane Pilots Association 3000 21st St. NW #60 Winter Haven, FL 33881.

2. ELIGIBILITY

The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Sporty's, their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in the same household of each such employee are not eligible to enter or win.

The Contest is void where prohibited by law.

3. ENTRY PERIOD

The Contest begins on March 15, 2026 and ends on August 15, 2026 ("Entry Period").

4. HOW TO ENTER

To enter, submit one (1) original photograph ("Image") featuring a seaplane via upload at sportys.com/seaplane. 

Submission Requirements:

• Image must be in JPEG or PNG format

• Maximum file size: 10MB

• Image must be at least 300 DPI and suitable for print reproduction

• Image must feature a seaplane as the primary subject

• Image must be suitable for all audiences (no obscene, offensive, or inappropriate content)

Sporty’s is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, corrupted, or misdirected entries, or for technical failures of any kind including website or network issues.

By submitting an Image, you agree to these Official Rules, including all rights granted in Section 6.

5. JUDGING

Images will be judged by a panel of three (3) Sporty's employees based on the following criteria:

• Creativity and Composition: 40%

• Technical Quality: 30%

• Originality: 20%

• Relevance to Seaplane Theme: 10%

Judging will occur on or about August 18, 2026. All judging decisions are final and binding.

6. OWNERSHIP, RIGHTS GRANTED, AND LICENSES

6.1 Ownership and Original Work

By submitting an Image to this Contest, you ("Photographer") represent and warrant that:

• The submitted Image is your original work created solely by you

• You own all rights to the Image

• The Image does not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any third party

• Any identifiable persons appearing in the Image have granted permission for their likeness to be published and used as described in these Official Rules

• If the Image was taken on private property, you obtained permission from the property owner

• You have the full right and authority to grant the licenses and rights described in this Section 6

6.2 Grant of License

By entering the Contest, you grant Sporty's, its affiliates, partners (including the Seaplane Pilots Association), and successors a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to:

• Reproduce, publish, display, and distribute the Image in any and all media now known or hereafter developed

• Use the Image in print publications, digital media, catalogs, websites, social media platforms, email marketing, and other promotional materials

• Edit, crop, resize, or modify the Image for layout, formatting, or promotional purposes

• Use the Image in connection with promotion of this Contest, Sporty's products and services, and seaplane-related content

• Use the Image on the cover or interior of future Sporty's Catalogs

• Sublicense the Image to Sporty's partners and affiliates for promotional purposes related to seaplanes and general aviation

6.3 No Additional Compensation

You understand and agree that no additional compensation, beyond Contest prizes if awarded, will be provided for any use of the Image by Sporty's, its affiliates, or partners, regardless of the scope, duration, or medium of such use.

6.4 Credit

Sporty's will make reasonable efforts to credit you as the Photographer when practical and when space permits, but credit placement and inclusion is not guaranteed and shall be at Sporty's sole discretion.

6.5 Retention of Copyright

You retain ownership of the copyright to the Image. The license granted to Sporty's is non-exclusive, meaning you may continue to use, license, or sell the Image to others.

6.6 Publicity Rights

If you are selected as a winner, you agree that Sporty's may use your name, city and state of residence, photograph, likeness, voice, biographical information, and statements for promotional and advertising purposes in any media worldwide without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

6.7 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Sporty's, the Seaplane Pilots Association, their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, partners, and successors from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to:

• Your breach of any representation or warranty in this Section 6

• Any claim that the Image infringes or violates any third-party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other proprietary rights

• Your violation of any law or regulation in connection with your entry

• Any claims by persons appearing in the Image or owners of property depicted in the Image

This indemnification obligation shall survive the conclusion of the Contest and any termination of these Official Rules.

7. PRIZE

One (1) Grand Prize: $1,000 Sporty’s Gift Card and Image featured on the cover of a future edition of Sporty’s Pilot Shop Catalog.

One (1) Second Place Prize: $500 Sporty’s Gift Card.

One (1) Third Place Prize: $500 Sporty’s Gift Card.

Prize will be awarded within thirty (30) days of winner verification and completion of all required paperwork.

8. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION

The potential winner will be notified via email and/or phone on or about August 24, 2026 following judging. The potential winner must respond within seven (7) days of notification or an alternate winner will be selected.

Before being declared the official winner, the potential winner may be required to:

• Complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release within seven (7) days of notification

• Provide proof of eligibility and identity

Failure to comply with these requirements within the specified timeframe may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

If a potential winner is found to be ineligible, has not complied with these Official Rules, or declines to accept the prize, such potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected.

9. PRIVACY

Information collected from entrants is subject to Sporty's Privacy Policy, available at Sportys.com/privacy. By entering, you consent to Sporty's collection and use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy and these Official Rules.

10. Right to Cancel or Modify

Sporty's reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond Sporty's reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Sporty's in its sole discretion.

Sporty's reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Contest, or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.

 

11. ACCEPTANCE OF RULES

BY SUBMITTING AN IMAGE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND THE DECISIONS OF SPORTY'S, WHICH ARE FINAL AND BINDING IN ALL RESPECTS.

Sporty’s Seaplane Photo Contest
Photo Submission and Usage Agreement

By submitting a photograph (“Image”) to the Sporty’s Seaplane Photo Contest (“Contest”), the entrant (“Photographer”) agrees to the following terms:

1. Ownership and Original Work

Photographer represents and warrants that:

• The submitted Image is original work created solely by Photographer.

• Photographer owns all rights to the Image.

• The Image does not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any third party.

• Any identifiable persons appearing in the Image have granted permission for publication.

2. Grant of License

By entering the Contest, Photographer grants Sporty’s, its affiliates, partners (including the Seaplane Pilots Association), and successors a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to:

• Reproduce, publish, display, and distribute the Image

• Use the Image in print, digital, catalog, social media, email marketing, and promotional materials

• Edit, crop, resize, or modify the Image for layout or formatting purposes

• Use the Image in connection with promotion of the Contest

Photographer agrees that the Image may be used on the cover of a future Sporty’s Catalog without additional compensation beyond the stated prize.

3. No Additional Compensation

Photographer understands that no additional compensation, beyond contest prizes if applicable, will be provided for use of the Image.

4. Credit

Sporty’s will make reasonable efforts to credit the Photographer when practical, but credit placement is not guaranteed.

5. Indemnification

Photographer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Sporty’s, its officers, employees, affiliates, and partners from any claims arising from breach of these representations.

6. Acceptance of Rules

Submission of an Image constitutes acceptance of these terms and official contest rules.
