Comfortable
First headset had a bad MIC. Exchanged it with no problem. Customer service was really good. New headset works great, very comfortable on +3 hr flights. Definitely recommend!

Quiet comfortable, but not functional for my needs
Let me start off this is a very nice headset. I fly the 737 uflymic prior and my lower rating is because it doesn’t meet what I was personally was looking for. The reasons I didn’t like it first and then the things I did like. Didn’t like the bulky ness of the case, pressing of the wire over the ear on the mic side by my ear, non adjustable boom mic, lean head back and the wire around the back moves it, mic left side only, no Bluetooth(on tso). Liked, quiet, built well, fairly comfortable, lightweight. Hope this helps, I read lots of reviews... for the right person this is a great headset..

Right side audio failed after 6 months of use.
While this headset is lightweight and comfortable to wear, the higher cockpit noise in B-737 is just too much for the ear buds, which do not block out enough noise. In addition, my right side audio failed after just over 6 months of use. No visible damage is apparent, but the small wires leading to the earbuds seem much too delicate.

Great Headset. Glad I swapped.
Having used Bose headsets for probably 15yrs I was reluctant to swap. However I actually tired of wearing the Bose for 8+ hours/day and wanted something else. I have used the Claritys for about 15hrs in an Embraer 145 and love them. Occasional the ear cushions come off, but there easy enough to screw back on (and pull out of my ear if thats where they came off at). I tried these about 6 months ago in a Helicopter and loved them there. However I flew with a life vest (offshore) and found the junction box on the back would bump the vest and mess up the fit on my head. Really annoying because it was usually when I was turning my head a lot in critical areas. It only did that due to the vest. I love this headset, especially the fact that they pack smaller than normal headsets. My one wish would be that they packed even smaller.

Very light headset. It works really well and it's great not having to remove them once at altitude if we use the speakers. They sound a little bit metallic but you get used to it with time. Definitely produces a background static noise if mic is left open. A little bit of a drawback is the headband that is not adjustable. It would be nice considering the price. Also the over the ear mic boom makes the left ear slightly sore. A little padding would be great. But I guess with time it will go away. I get a little nervous putting them away in the case because the mic boom gets slightly squished by the case. However I have friends who had them for years and have had no issues.

Still Getting Use To It
I've only flown about 35 hours with this headset and I'm still getting accustomed to it. I'm a Captain on the 737. Love the light weight and the fact that I can drop the earplug on the right side when talking to someone who doesn't have a headset. It takes a bit of effort to get the earplugs in to where they feel comfortable and won't fall out. I'm using the smallest earplugs which may still be too big for my ears. On longer flights, greater than 4 hours, the over the ear piece on the left side begins to hurt a bit, kind of like a hot spot. No issues with the right side. I've had the same experience when I wear some types of sunglasses for long periods. The chord is attached to the left side which may be putting more weight on the that ear. The headset seems pricey for what you get, but it is unique; the only option of which I'm aware that doesn't have the traditional over the head band and ear muffs. If I can figure out a way to eliminate the hotspot over my left ear it's a keeper. Otherwise, may need to switch to a more traditional headset.

Not bulky but not fully comfortable.
I fly for 6+ hours certain days in a piper Aztec and it does a good job at noise cancelation. I was tired of my old David Clark bulky sets. Only downside is the right hook that goes around my ear sometimes presses down too hard on the top of my ear and eventually have to adjust or temporarily remove from the top of my ear. Wish they could have had a cushion instead of just the metal band. Il have to rig something there for comfort. The mic seems sort of short at times and you pretty much need to keep it real close touching your lip. The ear buds will get dirty with wax and after a few cleaning the foam starts to break off if cleaned too hard.

Not comfortable, mic didn’t work...
Built like a tank, I’m sure that some folks will love these, but the metal band pressed too hard behind my ears and was just not tolerable. I don’t think I’d ever get used to that pressure. I tried these on three different MD88's and the mic didn’t work on any of them. The 88 com system is finicky so it might have been the planes but the cost is too high to not be able to depend on them. GREAT SERVICE from Sporty's as usual. Took the return and refunded my money no problem.

It took a few uses before my ears got used to the plugs. However after several uses my ears got used to the plugs and wouldn't trade for another brand or type.

Does it need to be stored in the carrying case? What are the dimensions of the case?
Dan R on Jan 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: In my opinion it absolutely needs to be in the case when not in use. The headset is amazing but the ear buds will come off and then it is rendered useless. Plus, it is sturdy but there is less to it than a traditional headset so I feel it to be less able to handle direct blows, etc. I do not know the dimensions of the case but it fits nicely in my flight bag. Mine has been used almost daily for the past year. LOVE IT!
