I haven't had a chance to use them in a real airplane so I can't say they are bad. They are comfortable.August 14, 2019Purchased
2 weeks agoGood comfortable starter set.Very comfortable for a lower cost headset. Sound clarity is descent but tends to have a “can like sound” not full tone sound. Good starter/spare set. No other issues that I found yet.June 2, 2019Purchased

4 months agoDurability4 / 5Reliability4 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesFaro Stealth Passive vs. ASA HS-1AI flew both professionally and for recreation. I got back into recreational flying after many years of not flying. I was not sure what headset I wanted, so I ordered both the ASA AirClassics HS-1A and a Faro Stealth Passive headset. The ASA headset was as uncomfortable as I remember from yeas ago. I have a big head (don’t all pilots!), and I remember that the small ASA ear cups would crush my ears over time and become very uncomfortable. Out of the box, the Faro headset fit well and did not crush my ears. The Faro headset also has much less clamping pressure on the head. I sent back my ASA headset to Sporty’s and bought two more Faro headsets (I own three Faro total now). For a primary headset, if you don’t want to buy a noise cancelling, go for the Faro Stealth Passive headset. Saving $90 by buying the ASA headset is not worth it for your primary headset. If you rarely carry passengers, you might be able to justify saving a few bucks on a backup headset by getting the ASA headset. If you have a small or average size head, the ASA headset may work okay for you. I have not regretted spending the extra money on Faro Passive headsets for me and my passengers. For reference, my current flying has me wearing the headset for about 1.5 hours for local flights. I have not worn the Faro on a long cross-country flight but think that it would be much more comfortable than the ASA headset. Good luck and happy flying!March 26, 2019Durability4 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesFirst flight with it was excellentFor the price, the Faro performed perfectly for me. I've had the chance to try it out recently on several flights, and the product is a great value in PNR for the price. The headset is comfortable, and the audio quality is also very good. Not quite as good as the ANR in my Zulu 3 headset, but for ANR it's very good. Considering purchasing a second pair for a second passenger.November 17, 2018Purchased

11 months agoDurability1 / 5Reliability1 / 5Performance2 / 5Ease Of Use3 / 5Value1 / 5Would You Recommend?NoNope! Keep looking. Faro doesn't stand behind their product.I purchased this headset to serve as a backup passenger unit. Only needed something cheap and simple for the few times a year I fly with three or four passengers. I purchased in September of 2017 and only used them approximately five times before the ear seal ripped in June of 2018.
I contacted Faro support, described the issue, provided proof of purchase and photos of the problem. Their response... "Gel ear seals are considered normal tear and wear and not covered under warranty. Please purchase a replacement..."
I proceeded to explain these have only been used five times and are less than one year old. Again their answer... "As mentioned previously, ear seals are consumables...."
They kept directing me to their website where I can spend $30 plus shipping on a new set of ear seals. Sorry, not going to do that. In the trash can they go!
I had a very poor experience with this product and an even worse experience with their customer service.
I will not buy Faro again, not because the product was the issue, but because the company wouldn't stand behind their product.June 29, 2018Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Top valueThis is my second set, they work as advertised, great value.June 26, 2018Purchased
