High performance without the high price

A good headset is essential for safe and comfortable flying, but too often pilots are faced with a tough choice: pay over $1000 for a great headset, or buy a cheap one that is uncomfortable and lacking important features. Faro has solved this problem with their Stealth Passive Headset. This sleek and stylish headset has the high-end features you want, like music input and optional active noise reduction, but at prices, you can afford. Perfect for student pilots, passengers or anyone who appreciates a great value – not just a great price.

Music input
Long cross-country flights can get boring, but listening to music can help keep your attention – and maybe your sanity. The Stealth Headset’s aux input jack is conveniently located on the juncture box where the headphone and microphone plugs come together, and an auxiliary input cable is included. Just plugin and enjoy.

Double thick ear seals
A headset is only as good as the ear seals, so Faro spent months designing the perfect material. The result is a set of ultra-soft, protein leather ear seals that are over twice as thick as other brands. This provides ultimate comfort with maximum passive noise reduction.

Noise-canceling electret microphone
Fully adjustable microphone boom is reversible and features a noise-canceling electret microphone. This delivers high quality, crystal clear communication so you sound like a pro even if it’s your first solo.

Stereo audio with dual volume controls
Independently control volume levels to both the left and right ear, with no confusing controls. Faro Stealth headsets also feature a stereo/mono switch so they are adaptable to most aircraft intercom systems. Even if your intercom is mono, you’ll still hear music in stereo.

Helpful customer support
You will probably never need it, but Faro Stealth headsets include a worry-free 3-year warranty and friendly, US-based customer service.

Good for cheap headset
I needed two headset for occasional back seat passenger. I picked up Faro PNR stealth and tried them out today. Our take: they are comfortable, maybe too comfortable. More clamping pressure would reduce noise. Noise was substantial, and the sound seemed to be missing bass/lower tones, so it was a little hard to understand. Once we adjusted all volumes it was tolerable. I wouldn't recommend these for the pilot or student pilot, but they are comfortable and fine for passenger use. Overall, I'll be keeping them for my occasional rear seat passenger. Grades: Comfort = A, fit = B, sound = C
Exterior box
Inside, a yellow felt bag with drawstrings. The headset was inside that. Very plush ear pads.
In flight. Both wearing the Faro Stealth PNR.

Good for the price.
I bought these to use with my X-11 Flight Sim.After I received them I found out I needed an adapter to plug into the computer (an extra $60).I have turned up the volume to max on both the computer and the headset and the volume is still barely audible. I haven't had a chance to use them in a real airplane so I can't say they are bad. They are comfortable.

Good comfortable starter set.
Very comfortable for a lower cost headset. Sound clarity is descent but tends to have a “can like sound” not full tone sound. Good starter/spare set. No other issues that I found yet.

Faro Stealth Passive vs. ASA HS-1A
I flew both professionally and for recreation. I got back into recreational flying after many years of not flying. I was not sure what headset I wanted, so I ordered both the ASA AirClassics HS-1A and a Faro Stealth Passive headset. The ASA headset was as uncomfortable as I remember from yeas ago. I have a big head (don’t all pilots!), and I remember that the small ASA ear cups would crush my ears over time and become very uncomfortable. Out of the box, the Faro headset fit well and did not crush my ears. The Faro headset also has much less clamping pressure on the head. I sent back my ASA headset to Sporty’s and bought two more Faro headsets (I own three Faro total now). For a primary headset, if you don’t want to buy a noise cancelling, go for the Faro Stealth Passive headset. Saving $90 by buying the ASA headset is not worth it for your primary headset. If you rarely carry passengers, you might be able to justify saving a few bucks on a backup headset by getting the ASA headset. If you have a small or average size head, the ASA headset may work okay for you. I have not regretted spending the extra money on Faro Passive headsets for me and my passengers. For reference, my current flying has me wearing the headset for about 1.5 hours for local flights. I have not worn the Faro on a long cross-country flight but think that it would be much more comfortable than the ASA headset. Good luck and happy flying!

Excellent Value for the Price
I recently purchased this as a backup pair, mainly to use with passengers. I've had the chance to try it out recently on several flights, and the product is a great value in PNR for the price. The headset is comfortable, and the audio quality is also very good. Not quite as good as the ANR in my Zulu 3 headset, but for ANR it's very good. Considering purchasing a second pair for a second passenger.
