It came squished. The bottom hard board has bent in half, thus the bag does not standup or hold its shape. I put a 10lb weight inside it for 2 days, which helped somewhat.
Also, very annoying. The AA battery loops inside the headset pocket are too big to hold AA batteries. They immediately slide out.July 14, 2020Purchased

Pockets and pouches for everything you might want to stash in a small flight bag. The size is perfect for in between seats in a C182. The flaps are a little stiff but I suspect they will lumber up with use.June 19, 2020Purchased

1 month agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance3 / 5Ease Of Use3 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesGood and BadI am a corp pilot looking for a bag to hold a headset, passport, cords, chargers, etc. This bag has a lot of room but the pouches and compartments could be better organized. The large headset pouch could actually be divided into two compartments to make the bag more versatile. I had quickly looked at this bag that a friend owns and the loops for the batteries are the perfect size. however mine are like others that have been mentioned and are to large to hold AAA batteries. I will work with this bag for a few weeks and see if I can get things to work a bit better.June 9, 2020Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance4 / 5Ease Of Use3 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesA little small, but overall a good bag. Forget about the AA battery holders though.I can fit most of what I need in this bag. I haven't quite figured out how to get my yoke mount in there, but everything else has found a home and it's much better than what I was using before.
Some of the specialized pockets are tricky. For instance, the water bottle pocket on the side of the bag is very small and only holds certain bottles. It would have been nice if this was made with an elastic material so that it could stretch a bit to hold a wider variety of bottle shapes. It is exactly wide enough for a can of soda - so if your preferred beverage comes in packaging wider than that, it will not fit.
Likewise, some pockets are intended to be multipurpose, for instance holding a fuel tester or a flashlight depending on your preference. Since these pockets are also not elastic, the device you carry has to be exactly the right size and shape in order to fit. To give an idea, the Flight Gear LED flashlight fits exactly, and I believe that Sporty's fuel tester would also fit. I'm not sure about other flashlights though.
Finally, the AA battery holders inside the headset pocket are completely useless. These are actually made of an elastic material, but the loops are sewn larger than the diameter of AA batteries so they slide right out because the elastic is never under any tension.
Aside from some puzzling choices on the details listed above, the construction of this bag seems very good.May 19, 2020Durability4 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance4 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?NoA fine bag, but the Crosswind suited me better. This is a fine bag, but I found the Crosswind to be better. Basically, I found it easier to find things in the Crosswind, and I could put my headset and its case in the Crosswind. This bag is a too small for that. That said, if you plan to carry your headset in a separate case, this could be a good option.May 11, 2020Purchased

I keep my Bose A20 headset, powered adapter for it, and an extra hat in the main pocket; however, I have plenty of extra room for random things. It’s quick a bulky kneepad when the iPad is in it.BEST ANSWER: Hi Austin. Yes, it should. I'm a CFI, and needed a bag to that was more compact than my "big" Brightline bag, yet could hold everything I needed to haul around from one flight lesson to the next: iPad in its kneeboard/case, Stratus 2S, headset, flashlights, water bottle, and various cables. I've had the Flight Gear HP iPad Bag for 2 years now, and it was been the perfect size for me. Also, it has held-up very well, and still looks new! To your question, I'm not familiar with the Flight Gear HP iPad Kneepad specifically, however I do keep my iPad (standard size) in a MyGoFlight Folio Leather Kneeboard Lapdesk. That kneeboard also contains a separate clipboard for paper notepads, etc. That whole thing, including the iPad itself, is VERY bulky, and I was afraid it wouldn't fit in the Flight Gear HP iPad Bag. But as it turns out, it fits just fine, and I can also paperwork, etc. in the same bag pocket! So overall, I've been very pleased with the bag: it fits all my essentials including the iPad+ bulky kneeboard, and still looks new after 2 years of regular CFI use. Way more value than I expected at that price point. Fred S.Can bag fit in between Cessna 172 RG seats ?BEST ANSWER: ‘M a CFII and fly in a variety of planes. The IPad bag has fit nicely in most models. I put it between in the rear floor of my Warrior just behind the seat in frontal profile and it is easy to access. In Cessnas I can place it between the seats in side profile (with the headset and IPad already out) since the trim on the lower panel instead of between the seats as in Piper models. In smaller planes, I lay the bag on the seat aft of the student, and there it is also pretty easy to access. From the right seat. In all cases, it is easier to access than any larger gear bag and you can put just about anything you may need in this bag. It’s capacity is deceptively larger than it looks. In the Cutless, I have never used it, but I will on a ferry flight in about a week. How is the "Cirrus" Silhouette?
