I had no problem connecting the headset to my PC. The only aspect that I had to resolve was how to get the PTT button to work and discovered that I had to hook up my external PTT button and push the one on my Saitek Yoke at the same time I pushed my PTT button. Other than that issue it has performed excellently.May 12, 2019Purchased

My David Clark's have been stored away for over 10 years since I don't fly anymore, and I'm happy to be able to use them again while flying in the Pilot Edge environment.January 20, 2019Purchased

But if you want to use and/or test any headsets on a computer, this does the trick. it's built very solid and seems to be quite durable. Overall, I rate this with 5 stars.August 29, 2017Purchased

It does this task perfectly. However, it only passes mono audio to the headphones. If you have a stereo aviation headset, and wish to use it with Prepar3d or X-plane, the audio will only be in mono. I was able to get around this by purchasing a 1/4" stereo female to stereo 1/8" male plug and insterting the headphone cable into the PC directly - by passing the adapter.February 6, 2017

Now I make sure to unplug the headset when I am finished using it. I think only the microphone is reliant on the battery because I could hear fine but the mic wouldn’t work properly. One review seems to indicate there is no sidetone capability (can't hear yourself speaking) with this unit. How do I PTT while flying X-Plane with pilot edge communications?BEST ANSWER: It will work with any Mac or PC with standard 3.5 mm jacks. it doesn't use any software or drivers since it's just an impedance matching device to adjust the impedance (think electrical resistance) from the aviation headset impedance to the consumer audio headset impedance. To PTT while flying in X-Plane, go to joystick setup in X-Plane and choose a button on the joystick or yoke (such as the trigger button) and assign "Contact ATC" to that button. With that done, when you are logged into Pilot Edge, you will transmit on the selected frequency in your selected comm radio when you press that button. If there are any issues, go to your sound settings on the iMac and make sure the correct microphone input is selected.Would I also need the u-174 to sp400 plug to make this work in a computer?BEST ANSWER: To use both the hearing and mic you would need the adapter. It appears to work OK, but I want to be sure the 2 connectors are in the proper position on the PC. Which goes where?BEST ANSWER: What I did was buy a further adapter that plugs the two outputs of this adapter into a cord that combines them into a single jack with 4 segments that then fits the earphone jack on my pc and thus connects the earphones and the mike. Site won't allow a link, but if you search for pc adapter you should be able to find one, about $12-13Does the microphone jack have the PTT line brought into the box?BEST ANSWER: It does not have a PTT.This doesn't have an on off switch.
