I had been borrowing headsets from the flying club and was unhappy with the noise level. The Zulu is in a different league. Very quiet. I can't compare them to other high end headsets but I have no regrets whatsoever.September 10, 2019Purchased

Lightspeed's Zulu 3 and PFX (We own both models) are not plastic. Their internal components are not junk. Their technology is, like their headphone housings, solid.
If you cannot hear ATC, or ATC cannot hear you, crisply and clearly, then you are at risk. Communication is key to flying today, especially in crowded airspace. You simply want the best headsets that you can afford.
I think that the noise cancelling is excellent and I prefer the fit, finish, and comfort of the Lightspeed headsets. I've done some long cross country trips with them and used both the Zulu 3 and the PFX. I prefer the upgraded ANR features of the PFX but both are extremely comfortable. The PFX does eat batteries, particularly if you've got the bluetooth turned on so make certain that you've got extras. I've had to change batteries mid-flight and it's no big deal if a) you know where your fresh batteries are and b) you advise ATC you're going off frequency for a moment, to change them out and c) you install them correctly.
Keep them out of the sun when you're not wearing them and treat them as if your life depended on them...it might.August 26, 2019Durability4 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesGreat headset!!This is my first purchase of a noise canceling headset. They are well built, light weight, comfortable and easy to use. Pairing Bluetooth was simple and noice cancellation is excellent. The only reason I am giving them a rating of four for durability is the cord itself does not seem as durable as the coiled cord of my H-10 60s that these are replacing. I do plan on buying another set for my wife and would highly recommend for anyone looking for a noise canceling headset.August 23, 2019Purchased

I don’t plan on using the bluetooth feature for music while in flight, but as far as using it around the house for music, it is awesome. Although my wife says I have found another way to tune her out… haha
Only made two flights with it, and I can tell it is tremendously more comfortable/lighter than the loaner headsets at the school. The top and ear cup pads are very soft and conform over earpieces of my glasses really well.
Sound clarity is much better too and the less than clear calls from other aircraft are easier to hear due to the ANR.
7 year warranty is a nice added selling point too.
Registering item on the Lightspeed website was straightforward and easy.August 18, 2019Purchased

I liked the Bose but my ears got very hot with them. I have used the Lightspeeed for almost a year now and have no complaints.August 12, 2019Purchased

The new technology makes the separate power module significantly smaller and lighter than the old unit. Should have done this sooner!August 12, 2019Purchased
1 month agoDurability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesBest headset I've ever usedThis is the by far the best headset I have used. It's super comfortable. Not too tight and works well with glasses. My ears don't feel like they are being stabbed by the frames no matter the style of glasses.
The noise reduction is pretty amazing. I've only used PNR headsets in the past and the Zulu 3 works better than the others even when it's turned off. I've forgotten to turn it on a couple of times and it works perfectly well. When it's turned on, just wow. The engine noise just drops out. It's about as loud as a sewing machine in the next room.
Bluetooth works great too. It was easy to pair with my phone and connects quickly when enabled.
I've used it for a little over a month and couldn't be happier. The only drawback is my concern about stress on the cables when I can't find a good place to hang the controller. The cables seem pretty sturdy though, so it really isn't a problem.July 26, 2019Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance4 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesA solid performer in all aspects. The ANR works very well. The sound is a little flatter than I was used but after a few flights, it is fine. I switched from on the ear to over the ear. Hasn't been a problem with my glasses.July 25, 2019Purchased
