Will continue to purchase them. I do have a pair of the wireless, not much of a fan. Would trade them in for a pair of 2 or 3’a if I could. I do not use them as much.#zulubrosApril 26, 2019Purchased

What a great increase in comfort and performance. Definitely worth the cost. I highly recommend starting with the best headset you can afford. Noise cancelling is great. Makes IFR flights and overall communicating much easier.March 28, 2019Purchased
2 months agoI own the top of the line Bose headset, but thought I’d try the Lightspeed before spending $1095 for another Bose for a family member. The Lightspeed is better in my opinion, and I plan to sell my Bose set and buy only Lightspeed going forward.March 18, 2019Purchased

3 months agoPerformance5 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesMic boom too shortI recently purchased so I can't comment on durability or reliability. Quality appears to be good. The headset is comfortable and very quiet, quieter than my old Bose A10, and sound quality is excellent.. It is now winter so I don't know how comfortable it will be in summer in an unairconditioned aircraft. My only complaint is that the mic boom is too short to position fully in front of my mouth.January 25, 2019Purchased
5 months agoDurability4 / 5Reliability4 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesFor me, better than Bose A20I read many reviews on top tier ANR headsets. I narrowed my choices to the Zulu 3 and Bose A20. It seemed in those reviews it came down to individual user preference. So I opted to start with the Zulu 3 as it was less expensive and I could return it in 30 days if I didn't like it.
Just putting the headset on made it clear this was much better on passive noise reduction than my first passive headset. On my first flight with it it was a a couple orders of magnitude better than my old ANR headset. But as that headset (another brand) was at least 15 years old (back when Lightspeed was a new name and a Lightspeed 20 could be had for $450, I would have been shocked if the Zulu wasn't that much better. On my second flight with Zulu I was with another pilot who had the A20. After about 40 minutes we swapped head sets. Both of us felt there was no discernible difference in sound quality. He felt he liked the more positive pressure the Bose had on the ear cups. Interestingly, I thought they were too tight. I liked that the larger Lightspeed cups covered my ears completely while the A20's rested partially on my ears, possibly explaining why they felt too tight to me.
So, I have to say I agree with those other reviewers who found that both the Lightspeed Zulu and the Bose A20 are excellent ANR options. It really does come down to personal preference, and maybe how big your ears and head are.
My only real issue with the Zulu 3 is, as others have noted, the inability to flip the mic to keep the cords on the right side when sitting in the right seat - you know, where CFI's and nearly half of professional pilots sit. But for me, being able to keep the cable from crossing my chest is not a $250 benefit, which is the additional cost of the Bose A20.January 3, 2019Purchased

I use it flying a Piper Warrior and the noise cancellation is a must. Compared to non-ANR headsets I have tried this was just the perfect choice for the price point and utility.December 28, 2018Purchased
