I tied a 182 down in 30 mph South Dakota winds and it didn’t move an inch.

Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesGreat product!I’ve only had the Claw tie-down kit for a short period of time, but I used them at the AOPA Fly-In this past weekend, and found it very easy to use and did a good job in keeping the aircraft in position, even with a thunderstorm with gusty winds that rolled through the area on Saturday night. No complaints so far, and seems very durable - but can’t really speak yet to the long-term durability or reliability.- Was this review helpful? Yes (0) No (0)

Durability4 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Value3 / 5Would You Recommend?YesAppreciate the large storage bag. There is no need to duplicate the original, compact configuration in order to close the bag. Wished the hammer claw had a rubber cover instead of the cardboard cover provided.- Was this review helpful? Yes (0) No (0)

Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use4 / 5Value4 / 5Would You Recommend?YesVery good quality.Have used it for 2 years now and I can't find anything better. very durable and easy to use. To it's credit, the Claw is sometimes difficult to get out of the ground after use. This is a complete kit. Reading the other comments regarding the rope puzzles me...the rope provided is a very good quality composite core rope with appropriate stretch that protects the airplane, and is very easy to tie. The only complaint is that there should be an additional 10ft provided in order to allow three point tie-down. Cutting the provided length in three results in three lengths that are too short to allow enough angle from the plane to the anchors. So, I use the yellow rope on the wings and my own rope on the tail.- Was this review helpful? Yes (0) No (0)

Durability5 / 5Reliability5 / 5Performance5 / 5Ease Of Use5 / 5Would You Recommend?YesAs AdvertisedWon't really know how well it works until we go to Oshkosh but have no doubt it will meet expectations. Previous reviewer said the included rope was not really useable. The 3/8" line included looks more than adequate for the task. I'll have to cut it into three pieces and melt the ends but Hey (!), I'm a pilot, what can go wrong doing that?- Was this review helpful? Yes (0) No (0)

Worked very well and showed no signs of pulling free even with the load I placed on them with my ratchet strap tie downs.- Was this review helpful? Yes (0) No (0)

Learn MoreBrowse 2 questions Browse 2 questions and 2 answersCould you please tell me the weight of the tie down package? Is the mechanical advantage of the claw lost at the rear anchor for a tail wheel aircraft, as the force would pull to the side instead of upwardly?BEST ANSWER: The stakes are inserted at an inward angle at the end of each arm thus anchoring by a "claw" effect gripping the ground. Therefore the direction of pull/force is inconsequential.
