Rafale C Tiger Meet Die-Cast Model

Named “Best Tiger Aircraft” of the 2019 NATO Tiger Meet.

Nicknamed “Dark Tiger” with striking black paint and tiger stripes across the fuselage, this Rafale C belongs to the EC3/30 “Lorraine” Squadron. Hosts of the 2019 NATO Tiger Meet event, EC3/30’s Rafale was named “Best Tiger Aircraft” and the unit received the award for best operational performance. Though one of the newest “Tiger” squadrons to be formed, EC3/30 demonstrated excellence over the two weeks of the event, above their home base in Mont-de-Marsan.

History and Specifications:
Entirely French in design, the Dassault Rafale is the result of nearly two decades in development. Built with large delta wings and close-coupled canards, it was expected to have high agility and the latest weapons capabilities. Though taking flight for the first time in 1986, the Rafale C was not officially introduced until 2001 for both French Navy and Air Force Operations. Classified as a multirole strike aircraft, it was prepared for both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions in one single package. Fitted with 10 weapons hardpoints, 2 of which are triple-mount ground-attack stations, the aircraft can carry up to 21,000 lbs. of ordnance onboard. Additional to the 14 weapons stations, 3 external 530-gallon fuel tanks can be loaded, doubling the aircraft’s range from 1000 nautical miles to 2000 nautical miles. Beginning production in 2002, 300 aircraft have been completed as of October 2025, from 533 global orders for the Rafale.
