History and Specifications
While it retains the CFM-56 turbofans of the standard 737-800 type, the Poseidon has an upgraded 180kVA generator on each engine, rather than the 90kVA of the passenger type. Each engine produces 27,300 lbs of thrust, with an enhanced autothrottle system that allows for sharper and more smooth inputs while maneuvering. Top speed is 564 mph, or 509 when cruising, and the service ceiling is 41,000 ft. Combat range of the P-8 is 1,383 miles, or 4 hours of on station time in anti-submarine missions. Weaponry onboard is carried on 5 internal weapons bay stations or 6 external stations to maximize the space at hand. With the ability to carry AGM-84 Harpoon, AGM-88 HARM, AGM-158 LRASM, MK-54 Torpedo and naval mine or depth charges, the P-8 is a formidable platform for anti-vessel operations. This specific aircraft carries the livery of the Royal Air Force, with low observability grey camouflage to enhance its low attention nature. Carrying the registration of ZP806, this Die-Cast version has an accurate paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, and detailed landing gear for display. Measures 4”l with a 3.75” wingspan at 1:400 scale.
