The two most manufactured general aviation aircraft in the world
Leading the way forward, Cessna’s 172 Skyhawk and Cirrus Aircraft’s SR22 are the two most
manufactured general aviation aircraft in the world. Introduced in 1956, the Skyhawk remains the gold
standard for both student and advanced pilots alike. Replicated after a 1969 Cessna 172K, N46418 is
owned by Casey and Brandon Bates, winners of our yearly contest. Best-selling general aviation aircraft
since 2003, the Cirrus SR22 has since surpassed the offerings of Piper and Cessna. Now the world’s
premier aircraft for cadet pilots and for other training, both civilian and military, the SR22-G6 Turbo
represents one of the most advanced Cirrus aircraft available. Registered N221CL, it features striking blue
and silver colors. Each model measures 4”l with a 6” wingspan at 1:72 scale and is officially licensed.
