History and Specifications:
Second-largest member of the Boeing 737 Next-Gen family of aircraft, the 737-800 can carry up to 189 passengers onboard, 20% more than the 737-700 and 14% less than the 737-900. Powered by two CFM International CFM-56-7B engines, the 737-800 can travel 3,584 miles at speeds up to 544 mph. Rated for altitudes up to 41,000 ft, the aircraft can weigh as much as 174,200 lbs. with a full load of passengers onboard. Still one of the most common aircraft in operation, Boeing produced 5,220 of the 737-800 between 1995 and 2020.
