Compared to the predecessor F28 Fellowship, the Fokker 100 had an 18ft extended fuselage which now carries 109 mixed class passengers instead of the previous 85, alongside the newly enlarged horizontal stabilizer. The wing of the 100 was also redesigned, with a touted 30% efficiency gain and increase in range to 1,500 miles. Replacing the old Spey engines, the new aircraft would be powered by two Rolls Royce Tay engines generating a combined 28,000 lbs of thrust. The altitude ceiling of the jet is 35,000 ft, with a top speed of 525mph and a maximum weight of 95,000 lbs.
Compared to the original 90 or so airlines across the globe, there is a very small number of Fokker 100s that have been in active service past the late 2000s, with most operators choosing to retire the type. TAM Linhas was one of the last of still operating them in the later 2000, alongside various airlines in Iran and Australia who retain limited numbers in service. This Die-Cast version has an accurate TAM Linhas paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, detailed landing gear and includes a display stand. Measures 7”l with a 5.5” wingspan at 1:200 scale.
