Crafted and tested by aviation pioneers Wilbur and Orville Wright, the Wright Flyer took its historic first flight on December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

This iconic aircraft was the first powered, heavier-than-air machine to achieve controlled, sustained flight with a pilot on board. On that historic day, both Orville and Wilbur took turns piloting the Flyer. Orville’s initial flight lasted 12 seconds and covered 120 feet. Later, Wilbur’s final flight extended to 59 seconds, soaring 852 feet before a strong gust damaged the Flyer, ending its operational journey. Today, the original Wright Flyer is preserved at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC, as part of *The Wright Brothers and the Invention of the Aerial Age* exhibit. With this premium 288-piece, Atom Brick 1903 Wright Flyer set, you can build your own replica of this legendary plane! When completed, the 1:45 scale model measures 10.5”l x 4.5”h with a 6.25” wingspan. Display stand included. For ages 14 and up. Assembly is required. Officially licensed by the Smithsonian.
