What is FAA WINGS?

FAAST logo

The WINGS - Pilot Proficiency Program is designed to help you construct an educational curriculum suitable for your unique flying requirements through a variety of accepted courses. It encourages continuing education, review, and flight proficiency in the Areas of Operation found in current Airman Certification Standards (ACS) or Practical Test Standards (PTS). Completion of a Phase of the WINGS program satisfies your requirement for a Flight Review. To get started in the WINGS program and learn more, visit https://www.faasafety.gov/WINGS/pub/learn_more.aspx.

Who may participate in WINGS?

All pilots holding a U.S. pilot certificate and a current medical certificate or BasicMed, when required, may participate in the Basic Phase.

COVID-19 update

The FAA released a Special Federal Aviation Regulation to provide relief for pilots impacted by COVID-19. Among other things, the SFAR grants a three calendar month extension for the completion of a flight review. One of the requirements for this extension is the completion of at least three FAA WINGS credits. A Sporty's course (below) is an accepted way to comply with this new requirement. Read complete details here.
